1st Day of School

By the end of summer I am a mixed up ball of emotions. I am so excited for my children to go to school, because I loved school as a child, and want them to love school too. That being said, I do miss them during the day. It was particularly hard to watch my little girl go and not have her company for at least half the day like last year. On her first day they filled out a paper on 1st day jitters, and she just said "I am not nervous!" My son has already taken a test and say "It was easy, and I loved it." They are enjoying riding their bikes to school ( check out the motley biker crew we have every morning), but my son wonders if he will be allowed to ride his skateboard to school when he gets one. We will have to see about that. They both have very sweet and loving teachers, who seem to be excited about teaching and having them in their class. I am thankful that they love school, and hope that this year will be just as fun and thrilling as the previous years.

First Day of School

Sunday, August 16, 2009

August has been a full and eventful month. First, Uncle Jay took all the kids to the fair, to give the two mommies a break. Then we had my nephew's third birthday. He is missing dad, as well as mom. We hope to be able to see daddy soon. We had our Aunties and Uncles over to celebrate with cake and he even got a bike (one that isn't dora and a little girly). We had a visit from Grandpop and Aunt Jean, and our cousin Skye. Our Aunty came down to visit for few days, while her husband worked in Provo. And we Had Grandpa Gary's 60th birthday party. We finished it all up with a trip to Salem Pond, where we could play at a park, feed the ducks, catch little fish, and climb trees. We are anticipating the first day of school, in a few days. Whew, we might just be a little thankful for some routine.

So anyway that is a pictorial look at our month. Thanks again to Jay's family for a wonderful visit at Snowbird.
These are about half of the grandchildren on this side of the family, at the top of the Peruvian ski lift at Snowbird.
And then for a relaxing trip down the Alpine slide. What a fun family reunion.
If bungee trampoline was not enough, then surely this would do you in. That is my son at the top there.
Trampolines while you are attached to a bungee cord, if not totally fun, it is also a totally fun work out.
These kids are just beautiful, and if you think family pictures is a major feat, try it in a bee infested flowery meadow. However the location was beautiful, and the pictures are too.
And finally on the Monday after the 4th we were able to do a few fireworks, as the weather did not cooperate on the 4th.

Aren't these just 2 of the most handsome guys you have ever seen. I love them tons.

I love this picture of the kids walking away from the baloons, but they just can't stop watching them. That is my son and daughter, and their 2 cousins.

This is my beautiful family watching the baloons taking off at the baloonfest in provo on 4th of July. This has become a bit of a family tradition. My husband started taking my son when he was 1 year old.

This is my cute little girl posing for the camera. She really enjoys any attention she can get.

July!!!!!

This has been one busy month. With the 4th of July, my birthday, and a family reunion, it has seemed so busy and fast. This week we register the kids for school, and in 3 weeks we start school, hard to believe. I know once school starts I will miss them so, but I believe we are now at a point in the summer where a little bit more structure is desired. I am grateful for the family and friends who have made this month a wonderful and enjoyable experience.

The Opening

Well, here goes! Blogging is something new to me. But it looks like fun, and I really want to share my family with people I love. We are a family of four. Our children are growing up so fast, I am hoping to record a little of what they do as they go. Our oldest just got baptized, and our youngest wishes she could be about 10 years older. We love playing and working together, life is fun and good.
